ING in the Cloud: How we built a data platform at a bank
Constantijn Visinescu
Hands-on cloud architect (Xebia Data)
In the past year ING extended their on premises dataplatform onto Google cloud.
This platform is used bank wide to generate reports to the European central bank, run fraud investigations, and in the case of the cloud, use genAI, and everything else you can (and are allowed) to do with data as a bank.
In this presentation we will share our journey and challenges to securely work with data at a bank: from working with data in a compliant way and convincing stakeholders to building the actual platform.
If it’s possible to do this on the cloud in a highly regulated environment like a bank, we believe it’s possible anywhere.
